RPA - Credit notes
Global media company
A large media company in Switzerland was struggling with a cumbersome credit note process that was tying up employees across two departments.
The challenge
Employees at the company had to process 150 PDF files per month in order to manually to handle their credit notes. This took each of them 10 minutes per file using four different applications (Google Drive, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and SAP) on desktop.
What we delivered
We were able to build a bot which extracted the relevant data from a PDF file, validated the data for every PDF file against Excel files and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and entered the information into the system. This automation allowed employees to focus on more creative and involved tasks.
The results
The company saw a return on investment in just 3 months, with processing time being reduced by 75% and manual effort reduced by 30%.
“There’s a lot of automation that can happen that isn’t a replacement of humans but of mind-numbing behaviour.”
